MU International is a fan-run game server. This page explains what the website and game server keep about you and why. We don't sell data and we don't run ads.
Your account
- Your account name, and your password stored only as a salted hash.
- Your email address, if you add one, for account recovery and server news.
- Your characters, items and balances, which the game server needs to run the game.
- Donations: amount, currency, what was bought and the PayPal order reference, plus the payer email PayPal returns. Card and bank details go to PayPal and never reach us.
- Votes: which toplist you voted on and when, so we can credit iCoins.
Character names, levels, classes and rankings are public on the site.
Cookies
- mu_session: keeps you signed in, for up to 7 days. Necessary.
- mu_consent: remembers your analytics choice for 180 days. Necessary.
- mu_ga: holds an analytics event (such as “account created”) for a few minutes until the next page sends it.
- _ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics, to count visits and see how players find the site. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland they are only set if you accept them. Change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Services we use
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-ins and new accounts come from people, not bots.
- Google Analytics measures visits with advertising features turned off.
- PayPal processes donations under its own privacy policy.
Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated sign-in and sign-up attempts, and is not stored with your account.
Your choices
You can change or remove your email from your account settings. To see or delete your account data, contact the team on Discord from the account in question.
